YOUTH SCHOLARS
The Mary S. Nelums Foundation provides children with a wide range of social activities while pairing them with a social work mentor. In 2015, the foundation adopted a third grade class in Jackson Public School that will be followed until they go to college or choose a career path. The scholars receive critical thinking, self-esteem, problem-solving and social skills training. They are also provided with an exposure trip at the end of every school year.
Sponsor a child’s education today! All it takes is $20 to pay for a child’s school supplies and send them on an exposure trip. Or donate to create an endowment for social work scholarships.
With your help and donations, the Foundation can continue to support students in their goals to change their communities and beyond.
If you would like to support an exposure trip and supplies for third graders, your donations will be applied as follows:
